Australian Institute of Architects – Residential Architecture – Houses Award 2010
This two story apartment is an exercise in smallness. The site is to the rear of a two storey, heritage listed, commercial office. The apartment takes occupation of a prior shed and car park space and takes form as a remnant area described by existing driveway traffic. The architectural language of unit masonry, from the immediate environs, is countered with a rich investigation in plywood. Occupation delight demonstrates the excellent amenity and a marketable success.
