Located on an elevated block with views over south Canberra, the Tamar Street residence is an elegant geometric composition of three sun-filled pavilions set upon a service podium. The finely decorated crisp white form is countered with rich timber elements. The generous cantilevered roof adds drama to the formal zones and double height family area. An operable louvre system was designed to moderate solar gain and to direct light playing off the lap pool into the rooms adjacent. Meticulous detailing and a well considered palette enhance the generous internal volumes.
