Peter’s early career was grounded in a variety of projects, in both private and government sectors. For a decade Peter developed major projects within the Commonwealth Department of Housing and Construction including Brisbane International Airport, defence academy buildings, embassy housing and schools. In 1985 Peter left government to establish Collins Caddaye Architects as a design oriented architectural practice based in Canberra. The practice has flourished and is highly respected by clients, government and professional peers. Many of Peter’s projects have been acknowledged by awards from the Australian Institute of Architects and he continues to bring to projects an integration of his extensive design and technical expertise with an ability to pursues a new or creative outcome for each project.
Derek has nearly 40 years of architectural and project management experience in the ACT and overseas in both the private and government sectors. He has operated as a multi-discipline design and documentation manager and in various management advisory capacities on numerous major projects. Being both an architect and a project manager, Derek has a unique perspective on the design management task in particular as he appreciates the design approach of the consultant team as well as the wider project management requirements particularly in respect to program quality and the budget. Derek oversees the management of all CCA projects with a focus on tender documentation and construction superintendence.
As an architect for a wide range of institutional and commercial projects, Andrew has extensive experience in working with clients and user groups, establishing detailed design briefs and ensuring that client requirements and expectations are integrated into the design and carried through to the completion of the project. Andrew has produced a wide variety of projects of an innovative and creative nature including multi-unit housing, luxury single dwellings, affordable housing schemes, public facilities and educational buildings. Andrew has been recognised by awards from the Australian Institute of Architects for a range of building types and categories including people’s choice, residential and public architecture. In 2012, Andrew was awarded the most prestigious prize for an architect, the Canberra Medallion.
